Quilts for Sale

Quilts for Sale

One of the many things I enjoy about our shop is walking around the store and overhearing descriptions of the myriad of diverse projects that are being discussed. These projects range from a fun table runner for the upcoming holiday season, a warm fuzzy Flannel Gnomies quilt being made for a grandson, or looking for that perfect fabric to be used in a One-Block-Wonder. There was even one conversation with a nice guy I met, that his wife was making him a very cool cape out of fabric from our Halloween section for the big event at the end of this month!
We love fabric and it is our goal to help you be successful with your project from beginning to end! With that in mind, we are continuing to keep our store chocked-full of beautiful fabric selections from a host of designers and suppliers.
We also love making samples from some of those wonderful collections to excite and inspire you. Most of our store samples are made by our daughter, Racheal, who does a nice job on them.
As we close in on our 4th year of ownership of Arizona Quilts, Debe and I have had many conversations on the subject… “What should we do with some of our amazing store samples?"
After some cogitation, we have decided to make them available for purchase.
I know, I know...we sell all the products, tools, and even provide the help needed to make your own wonderful projects be something of great pride and accomplishment. On the other hand, have you needed that special gift at the last minute that you just didn’t have the time or maybe even the skills to make? If that’s the case, then we have the answer. We are now making available several wonderful quilts for purchase that are made with fabric lines that are no longer available or out of print. I am attaching pics of a few of the above.
There are several more than these, so if you’re interested I would suggest that you stop by soon as we have sold several of these awesome quilts in the last 2 weeks! If you’re not available to drop in, please just call the store and we can send you a pic of something that may pique your interest.

I also wanted to highlight the new “Wild Horses” collection I showcased in Wednesday’s Facebook Live! This very cool line by RJR Fabrics has a modern edge to it and comes in 3 colorways. It would also make an amazing One-Block-Wonder according to the App which converts any pic of fabric to an impression of what the One-Block-Wonder would look like.

American Muscle!

American Muscle!
During the last few weeks on our Facebook Live, I described how
hitting some deep sand while riding my mountain bike sent me into my best "Superman" imitation while flying over my handlebars! The abrupt landing
on my left rib-cage not only slowed me down a bit, but made
normal breathing a challenge. It also entitled me to a trip to the
nearest ER for a chest x-ray. The x-rays revealed that nothing
had been broken just some significant bruising with a final prognosis to take it easy for several weeks. One of our long-arm quilters, Lauren,
told me she was working on getting my bubble wrap suit
ready to protect me from any more injuries. My response to that and
several other zingers from folks has been simple, "Ok, Ok, I know
now that I can't skim over the top of deep sand as Jesus walked on water,
so next time I'll get off my bike and walk!"
Thanks for all the well wishes as I am feeling better and have already hopped back on my bike for a few rides and even
rode to the scene of the crime on Saturday morning.

I now transition to the subject at hand - American Muscle, by Studio E.
When I first laid eyes on this super cool collection, it immediately took me back to my high school days when most of my time was either spent looking at, dreaming of, reading about, or riding in American Muscle cars that were plenteous in those days! Many of my "cooler" friends strutted their stuff in rides like a
'67 Z-28 Chevy Camaro, a '68 Ford Ranchero, or a '69 Chevy Chevelle Super Sport!
For the rest of us rabble, we would just dream of a super cool car as we tooled around in something, you might say, that was a little less exciting!
For me, the less exciting option was an awesome, (clearing my throat - wink, wink) VW Squareback with a whopping 50 horsepower motor to push me down the road!

I do realize that a percentage of you don't have a whole lot of interest in
classic muscle cars, loud engines, or horsepower numbers, but I do believe
that many of you have someone close to you that would be
considered a certified "Gearhead"! To those folks - who wouldn't be
pretty excited to have a wonderful quilt made from this collection and be taken back to a fun time of nostalgia that we loved so much.
Here is the full description of this great collection.
"For all gearheads out there, Chelsea DesignWorks has created a nostalgic 1970’s muscle car collection in a patriotic palette. There is a panel with 10-inch square blocks showing six different views of muscle cars and gas stations in a 24” repeat. Other patterns are two different layouts of muscle car all-overs, a collage of muscle cars with gas station and car icons, spark plugs, tone-on-tone car parts, a tire tracks stripe, stars, flags, and of course, the 1970’s classic, furry dice!"
This collection is highlighted below as one of our new fabrics this week, so just click the link to be transported to the entire line of nostalgia!

On the Farm!

On the Farm!
How many of you have either lived, worked, or been "On The Farm" in the course of your lifetime?
To many of us, the mere mention of those words conjures up an array of thoughts, memories, and maybe even some smells in our minds!
My dad grew up on a farm in west Texas where my grandad worked a section of land, 640 acres, east of the "Caprock" in Scurry County. Besides a modest farmhouse, this diverse piece of land was home to a  1 1/2 acre stock pond, a large mesquite grove where you could usually find 10 or so head of mixed beef cattle, and acres and acres of maze, cotton and other seasonal crops. It even boasted of several crude oil pumpjacks, 3 oil holding tanks and a 30' high separator tank. As a young boy, heading to The Farm every year for 2 weeks was always the highlight of our summer.
When Moda's new collection, "On The Farm", designed by Stacy Iest Hsu, got to our shelves, it stirred up all those wonderful memories once again! It also reminded us of the joy of watching our kids, and now our grandkids, spend hours imagining those times on the farm with the
Little People Farm Set by Fisher Price.
We have Stacy's full collection complete with 28 prints.
Inspired by life on a farm and the many animals, this beautifully illustrated collection in red, green, blue and neutral is versatile and fun to sew with. When shown this wonderful collection many months ago by our Moda rep, the girls couldn't resist adding to the fun with a Barn Cut & Sew Panel that includes a barn, farm animals and even a tractor!
Whether you live in a big city, small town or in the country, this collection is sure to give you all the comfort of living On the Farm!
